This research paper is a detailed analysis of the image of Italy in the works of Vladislav Khodasevich (1886-1939). The poet repeatedly turned to it from 1911 until 1926. Even though his Italian works of 1911-1920 can be found in different collections, some of them have not been ever published or finished - they are all connected by common elements, motifs, and topics. This connection can be traced in the late period as well. However, it undergoes some changes. The impressions of the second trip are superimposed on the image of Italy of 1911 and transform its elements in a painful, pessimistic way. This may be directly related to the departure, and then the emigration of Khodasevich to Western Europe. In addition to fiction, this research paper also examines the poet's notes about Italy and Italians from personal correspondences and his memories of contemporaries.
