Toponyms and Ethnonyms in the Armenian Historical Literature of the 5th-8th Centuries

This study is devoted to the study of not only the toponymic Armenian nomenclature, but also ethnonymic. All the names of the peoples that were devoted to this chapter are recorded in various historical sources, “The Life of Mashtots”, Koryun, “Agafangelos”, “Epic History”, “History of Armenia”, Lazar Parpetsi, “On Vardan and the Armenian War” Yeghishe, “History Emperor Irakle ”, attributed to Bishop Sebeos,“ History of Armenia ”by Movses Khorenatsi,“ Geography ”by Anania Shirakatsi and“ History of the Halibs ”by Ghevond1. The names of ethnic groups represented in the framework of this work are directly or indirectly related to the social-real reality of the Armenian state, which represents the interests of allied or militant peoples. Ike in military clashes that occurred between 449/450 and the beginning of the VIII century. The selection of the alphabet in the first decade of the V century. before the Arab period in the history of the Armenian state, reflected in the medieval historical description.
