The song book Stichirar is a mono-genre liturgical book which includes chants of one musical and poetic genre - stichera. The book is based on the solar calendar, chants are arranged from the indicator - the beginning of the year (September, 1st) until August, 31. Stichirar was borrowed from Byzantine practice, therefore, it is based on Byzantine memories. This book is translated, but already in the earliest lists have services compiled about Russian saints (martyrs Boris and Gleb, St. Theodosius). The stihirar refers to the bookishness of the Studio era, in which the oral tradition predominated. The function of this song book was presumably collective, the book was a kind of study guide for singers and singers. In total, we know of 8 Mineian Verses of the ancient period dating from the 12th century. All manuscripts are notated by the famous wounded type notation, some chants contain a large number of melismatic characters - feats and persons, which indicate a special length of the chant. Each element in its composition is unique and does not repeat the others. The composition of the month in all studied manuscripts is different, but all the lists contain a set of obligatory memoirs, which is the “liturgical core” of this song book. The study of the months of the month is undoubtedly an important part in the study of both individual followings or services to specific saints, and the entire monument as a whole. It serves as an additional source for clarifying the place of writing the manuscript, determining a more accurate dating.
