Organization of Marketing Activities in Small and Medium Enterprises

Small and medium enterprises are rather unstable economic units in Russia. They face a lot of challenges starting from government regulation, ending with a lack of funding for further development. Moreover, many industries in which SME operate are highly competitive, and the question which business owners ask: «What needs to be done in order to survive in the market, and have a constant cash and customers flow?» In this research, I will conduct a study which will prove that for small and medium-sized enterprises it is necessary to focus on the development of marketing activities. In order to achieve this goal, theoretical approaches of marketing will be investigated as well as the main features of SME and lots of research in the field of organisation of marketing activities in small and medium-sized enterprises. As an additional feature of the study there will be an empirical study to determine the attitude of clients to small and medium-sized businesses, as well as to study their consumer behavior. As a result of the study, several hypotheses regarding marketing in small and medium-sized enterprises will be tested, and at the end of the study, a list of recommendations will be formed that will allow entrepreneurs to improve their financial results by implementing these recommendations as a part of their marketing strategy.
