Psychoanalytical Research of Countertransference

This paper on the topic “Psychoanalitical research of countertransference” is devoted to the analysis of concepts of the countertransference phenomenon in the framework of the psychoanalytic process, the importance of using countertransference reactions in the work of the analyst / psychoanalytically oriented psychologist / coach. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the countertransference phenomenon in a narrow and broad sense, provides a detailed historical excursion from the origin, evolution, and modern concepts of the countertransference phenomenon in various psychoanalytic schools, gives a comparative analysis of them (from the first mention in psychoanalysis by Freud to the present) based on analysis a wide range of sources, various approaches to the classification of countertransference are considered. The author of the work conducted a practical research based on the analysis of practical examples of countertransference reactions of analysts / psychoanalytically oriented psychologists / coaches, which made it possible to clarify how in practice these countertransference reactions affect the work with the patient / client’s request, allow the analyst / psychologist / coach to diagnose, to formulate correct hypotheses and interpretations for further elaboration in the psychoanalytic process, to monitor during the current analytical situation true countertransference reactions to patient / client transfer from subjective intra-conflict reactions of the analyst / psychologist / coach.
