The Brach of a Labor Contract in Professional Football

The research considers the problem of termination of the labor contract in the field of professional football between professional football players and football clubs. The conditions and grounds for termination of the employment contract are examined. Based on an analysis of the provisions of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, regulatory interpretation and law enforcement practice, as well as the regulations of sports federations, it is suggested that termination of the labor contract with professional football players in practice represents a symbiosis of the application of labor law and civil law, which is the result the impact of lex sportiva regulations. In addition, the transfer of a professional football player from one football club to another is examined as well, there is a refutation of the popular theory in the Russian doctrine about the legal nature of the transfer contract and its essential conditions.
