The Management of the Network Development Program in a Cellular Company

Benefits management has recently gained in popularity. Its practices are helpful for highly competitive industries which is telecom. From the modern perspective, programs are held to realize benefits or strategy of the company, that involve not a financial benefit. The purpose of the work is to analyze the benefits management practices in the network development program initiated by one from the Russian telecom companies, which is more focused on projects than programs, and to formulate recommendations for their improvement. The study is based on several rounds of interviews, documentation analysis, and participant observation. The study revealed problem aspects in terms of benefits management which might be improved. The major one is the process of progress monitoring applied in the company. Other small places for improvement were also been identified. Therefore, metrics for the measurement in terms of progress and benefits realization were developed. Monitoring the proposed indicators will help the company to focus more on the needs of the client, controlling the quality of the changes made, as well as managing resources most advantageously.
