Improvement of Order Picking Process at an Online Retailer Using Simulation Modeling (Case Study of LLC "Kupishoes")

The inductry of e-commerce is rising from year to year, so companies constantly need to increase their throughput to meet the evermore growing demand of customers. Usually automated solutions come in handy in such situations but however they are used inefficiently due to the lack of experience and theoretical knowledge in managing such systems. The aim of this thesis is to develop a set of measures to improve the efficiency of order picking process in the area with automated equipment of the LLC "Kupishoes" warehouse. To achieve this goal, the following objectives are identified: 1. To analyze the market and assess the compliance of the company's logistics system with the market requirements. 2. To analyze the existing order picking process and identify the factors of its poor performance. 3. To research and systematize approaches and solutions in the field of warehousing automation. 4. To develop a simulation model in AnyLogic to evaluate and select the rational solution for improving the efficiency of the order picking process. 5. To propose a set of measures to improve the order picking process and estimate the economic benefit to implement the solution.
