This paper contributes to the field of multimodal linguistics and also discusses the means of expressing the emotive of joy in communication. The term language in this study is understood more broadly than in traditional linguistics; various communication channels that make up the vocal and kinetic modalities are included in its definition. The paper considers the basic means of verbal, prosodic, and gestural communication channels by which the emotive of joy is expressed in sentences. The study also examines the principles of annotating the corresponding channels and the temporal coordination of gestural and speech units.
