The purpose of the research is to design and develop the software for the analysis of academic writing in English. Academic writing in English is a rather complicated task for language learners. The system being developed will conduct text analysis, based on which the user will receive recommendations on how to bring the text closer to the academic style. Corpus linguistics methods are used to produce recommendations, and the system itself is designed as a web portal with microservice architecture. This solution provides a high degree of independence and flexibility. GATE Embedded is used as a main corpus analysis library, and corpora are to be stored in MongoDB. The results of research and development is a web portal that allows storing the text corpora and conduct their analysis, text documentation and diagrams that cover various aspects of the system and its design. This project may be of interest to students studying English as a core subject or as a complementary subject, as well as to teachers and language researchers. The work includes 55 pages of main text, 23 illustrations, 7 tables, 3 code snippets, and 4 appendices. Bibliographic list - 20 titles. 2020, Department of Information Technologies in Business.
