This paper studies the effect of parking prices for private cars on the carsharing usage in terms of Moscow carsharing market. The main hypothesis of the study states that there is a direct dependence on the parking prices of different Moscow parking zones and the carsharing usage activity in corresponding zones. In order to test the main hypothesis, it was decided to consider three separate ones that altogether are enough to provide significant evidence to prove it. As a result of their testing with the help of economic modelling, questionnaire and correlation analysis, it was concluded that carsharing is a more cost-effective way than a personal car in urban environment conditions based on January, 2019 – January, 2020 data (hypothesis 1). By analyzing respondents’ answers (300 respondents) the fact that the need to pay for private car parking can be a driver to increase carsharing service attractiveness was proved (hypothesis 2). The correlation analysis (hypothesis 3) showed the presence of significantly high correlation level between two datasets – available cars of carsharing companies and parking prices over the period from 20.01.2020 to 03.02.2020. Consequently, according to the hypotheses testing, it can be concluded that the main hypothesis is valid.
