Russo-Qajar Relations and the Conquest of Central Asia: 1837-1881

This work pretends to analyze the economic and political significance that the Conquest of Central Asia had for the development of the relations between the Russian Empire and the Qajar Iran in the time period between the years 1837 and 1881, more specifically the importance that the Caspian Sea region presented for the Russian commerce at the time and the attempts of Russia to establish the role of Iran as its Client State.
