Misuse of power among public sector employees is endemic in developing countries like Ghana. Nevertheless, evidence of this is anecdotal. Many studies on corruption in the country are either jurisdiction-specific or limited to a particular field of interest. Not only does that erase the hazardous effects of some forms of corruption in the country, but blindfold the general public on the chain of misuse of power in the public sector. The present study will systematically review existing articles (publications?) From the Web of Science to explore and create a broader and more precise understanding of the misuse of power among public employees and the possible ways of controlling that unethical behavior in the sector. The content of the reviewed articles will be analyzed using a qualitative content text analytic technique. Texts will be restructured into codes, themes, and categories. The codes will be in the form of appropriate units depending on the significance of the text. This study will contribute to the existing literature by defining the scope of the phenomena and developing a set of potential sources and determinants. The study conducted a survey in order to ascertain the core happenings with regards to the pervasive misuse of power among public sector employees resulting in abnormal level of corruption in almost all levels of public operations.
