This Master Thesis is about the application of CSR and CSV strategies by multinational corpora-tions. Both theories, Corporate Social Responsibility and Creating Shared Value, are theoretically explained. In order to provide the reader with an understanding about CSR, primarily Carroll’s Pyr-amid of Corporate Social Responsibilities (1991, 2016) is used. For explaining Creating Shared Value, the findings published by Porter and Kramer (2011) are used and the two approaches are compared. Finally, the top 5 most valuable brands/companies ranked by Forbes in 2019, are ana-lysed and scanned according to their strategies used in regard of CSR and CSV, and the question whether one approach is preferred by the companies was clarified by proving three formulated dif-ferent hypothesis.
