Abstract: The purpose of developing a scenario-based technology for teaching foreign languages is, on the one hand, to answer the need for learning a foreign language for the widest range of tasks, and on the other hand, to satisfy the request of consumers that are not only interested in learning languages in general, but would like the learning process to be in line with their personal interests and goals. Scenario-based technology for teaching foreign languages offers to learn languages in a "learning + entertainment" format. The essence of the scenario-based technology is built on the following format: students learn 5 blocks of a week each. During each block the participants take part in different activities, “playing roles” in the certain circumstances that are especially designed for the purpose of particular scenario. The features of this approach are an individual approach to the student and creation of a special psychologically comfortable communicative environment, while at the same time, the participants are engaged in the study of a foreign language and the topic of the scenario. During the preparation of this work, the scenario technology was tested with participation of students of one of the Moscow universities. As a result, the students demonstrated their interest and involvement in the course. The approbation also proved that the technology might be efficiently used within the university environment. The results also allowed to prepare calculations for the implementation of the idea as an independent start-up project. Keywords: scenario-based technology for studying languages, training, foreign language, entertainment, start-up.
