Development Model of the Intra-University Startup Ecosystem

The central idea of the project is to develop universal recommendations on forming a model for the development of an internal startup ecosystem by studying the experience of innovation activities of global and Russian universities, and, in particular, by closely studying the activities of National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and making a comprehensive analysis of TPU ecosystem in terms of startup formation, and to demonstrate the implementation of these recommendations when forming the startup ecosystem development model at the Volgograd State University. The developed model is implementable by any Russian higher education institution (HEI), with adjustments for the specifics of the universities' core activities, and intends to increase the number of implementation of university-based startups, as well as to enhance the strengths of the higher education institution that already has a functioning startup formation ecosystem. The project has achieved the following tasks: 1) theoretical analysis of definitions, approaches and theories of the startup ecosystem: a literature review within the topic; 2) study of the practical experience of global and Russian HEIs in terms of the university's innovation management system and startup ecosystem; 3) comprehensive analysis of the TPU ecosystem for startup formation; The result is a set of universal recommendations on forming a model for the development of a startup ecosystem of the HEI's.
