Development of recommendations to improve the global competitiveness of Russian universities based on an analysis of the development of the socio-economic block of Kazan Federal University

It is planned to develop organizational and managerial decisions and recommendations to improve the competitiveness of higher educational institutions in Russia according to the rating agencies QS, THE and ARWU, taking into account the institutional problems and limitations of Russian practice and identifying the features of the evolution of scientific and educational activities of Russian universities in the field of social and humanitarian and economic knowledge, including analysis of measures to improve the efficiency of research activities, monitoring of educational services provided by Russian universities and assessment of factors affecting their demand in the international market. The problem to which we would like to devote our research lies in the plane of overall quality management in a higher education institution. Our goal-setting is conditioned by the fact that we get stable positions and advance in the international rankings of competitiveness of universities in the world according to the rating agencies Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) it is necessary to improve the quality of scientific and educational activities of higher educational institutions, and especially in social and humanitarian fields of knowledge. The problem is considered within the framework of the sub-divisions of the socio-humanitarian, in particular - the economic block of universities (on the example of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance of the Kazan Federal University).
