The main purpose of studying the theme of symbolism of female images in Tarkovsky's films is to identify a special type of beauty, the reasons and prerequisites for its appearance, and the impact on the viewer's perception. The director used an appearance that is on the verge of "good and evil", attractive and at the same time repulsive, thereby formulating an image of unsuitable beauty.
