Statutory Regulation of Music

Student: Diachkova Anastasiia

Supervisor: Tatiana Tereshchenko

Faculty: School of Law

Educational Programme: Jurisprudence (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The subject of this study is the legal regulation of human musical activity. This paper examines the essence of such an object of law as public relations directed at the creation and use of a musical composition. Furthermore, it studies the legal regulation of the exclusive right to the musical work, as well as the ways of its free use. The analysis of the correlation between the needs of society and the existing legal norms is carried out. In particular, it is proposed to supplement the methods of free use. The author concludes that the existing legal regulation of the field of study requires modernization since the available technical capacities and the widespread penetration of intellectual property rights in the sphere of musical activity into the daily life of a person have led to a situation in which there is a significant number of law violations.
