Educational Programme: Economics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

Novice investors come to the stock market looking for a way to preserve their savings and make profit on financial instruments. An active inflow of new investors with low level of financial education without proper experience can end very tragically and alienate the investment culture. Qualified and educated financial advisors are not interested in serving a large share of investors due to their small capital, but robo-advisers have long been active players in this area. Thanks to low commissions and round-the-clock working hours, they represent a great opportunity for most investors who do not want to devote much of their free time to investments. The purpose of this work is to consider the phenomenon of robo-advisers, to analyze the Russian market, its specifics and prospects, as well as to develop and implement a project to provide robo-adviser services in an investment startup that specializes in creating, maintaining and updating algorithmic strategies in the Russian and global stock markets. The developed service defines one of 6 risk profiles for the client and includes 12 portfolios for unqualified and qualified investors. The work has practical relevance for the research of the Russian robo-advising market, as well as companies specializing in investment advisory services.
