In the modern world, many countries are faced with the serious problem of excessive alcohol consumption. Russia is no exception and a rather vivid confirmation of such a case, as it is among the world's top drinking countries. Alcohol consumption affects many aspects of one's life, and these aspects concern the individual as well as their family and society. Research on alcohol consumption falls into two areas: the causes and consequences. The main direct consequence is the impact of alcohol abuse on human health, leading to severe illness or death. There are also many indirect consequences that shape our society, including but not limited to impact on the social and economic life of a person. That is why it is crucial to understand what drives people to consume large amounts of alcohol and what factors influence addiction development. Most of the studies that analyze Russian alcohol consumption are extensive but not in-depth because they obtain data using one-stage surveys. Furthermore, most of the findings focus on the effects of gender and age on alcohol consumption and beverage choices. This work will build on existing research and focus on the impact of educational attainment on alcohol consumption. The database is a survey conducted among residents of Russia. The analysis will be carried out by various statistical methods of both one-time data and time series.
