Improving Logistics Service in E-Commerce in Indonesia Using Smart Locker Shipping: Case of LAZADA

Lazada is an e-commerce company trying to become number one e-commerce in Indonesian market. However, in Indonesia the competition between e-commerce is quite tight to fight over the large Indonesian market. To become reach more costumer in e-commerce, Lazada needs to improve the quality of last-mile delivery. In big cities like Jakarta, last-mile delivery is often hampered due to confusing home addresses and congested Jakarta roads, besides that the imposition of odd and even regulations makes logistics companies have to provide extra strategies to increase customer satisfaction by cut time delivery and cost. In addition, the time needed to deliver goods by courier is also quite long, therefore the author offers a new delivery method to improve the quality of last-mile delivery in urban city. The success of the Smart locker in several e-commerce such as Amazon and Inpost reflects that the implementation of the smart locker is profitable for companies to collect delivery time and costs, the shipping price with smart locker is also relatively small so that it is favored by workers and students. In this study the authors try to implement a smart locker in Jakarta and take into account the benefits and compare them with the Carex and Orex methods, authors believe the success of e-commerce in Russia such as Ozon and Wildberries or Amazon and Inpost which also implement of smart lockers. Smart Loker also be spotted in Jakarta and increase customer satisfaction for the last mile delivery.
