Development of a Professional and Competency Model for the Training of Logisticians in the Supply Chain Planning Function

The study introduces proposals for the development of a professional-competence model of logistics managers of the supply chain planning function for the company "N" operating in the petrochemical industry. As part of the study, the relevance of developing a competency model for the chosen specialty was substantiated, existing models of competencies and approaches to their development were analyzed. Also, there were prepared an approach to the creation of a professional competence model for the company "N", an approach to the application of this model, and proposals of how to adapt the training practices used in the company on the basis of the created competency model and the best training practices. In addition, an approach to assess the effectiveness of the proposed solutions and their impact on the financial and economic performance of the company was proposed. The study is divided into three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the company's economic activities, identifies the main research problem, causes and their possible solutions. The second chapter presents the results of the analysis of existing professional competence models and existing approaches to their development. Also, the second chapter reflects the approach to the formation of a competency model, which is applied in the third chapter. The approach to developing a competency model proposed in the study is based on the SCOR-model, existing educational, professional and industrial standards, as well as the results of two surveys conducted among the professional community in order to determine the impact of competencies on employee performance and assess the importance of competencies for planning. The proposals prepared during the formation of the approach can be used to develop both industry-specific competency models and competency models for companies and their divisions.
