Use of Data Journalism in Jordanian Government Media

Data journalism is one of the most important new forms of digital journalism, and its effective use is a strong evidence of media development, especially with rapid technological developments. The aim of this study is to analyze the use of data journalism in Jordanian government media, and to understand the tools, characteristics, concept, shapes, significance and types used in data journalism in government media. The researcher used two scientific methods to access and analyze the data, and then obtain the results. One of them was to conduct ten interviews with media experts in Jordan, and the second was to analyze government media content in the aspect of data journalism. It reviewed a number of its findings, the most prominent of which were the absence of news sections for data journalism in government media, and the weak use of data journalism in its true form, in addition to that about 80.6% of data sources were government institutions, and that journalists use free tools to represent Data, and the economic aspect was overwhelmed by data-based news.
