Premium for Higher Education in Russia: What Has Changed Over Last 25 Years

The study examines the return on higher education in Russia from 1995 to 2019. RLMS data was used. Model is based on basic and extended specification of Mincer equation. The analyzed group is employed labor force from 25 to 65 years. Returns of higher education are estimated on the basis of Least square method. There are three specifications in the model – for all respondents, for men and women. Extended specification of Mincer equation contains the level of education, working experience, type of settlement, capital / province, industries, federal districts, marital status. One of the key advantage of the study is to take into account additional work such as off-hour job, extra part-time job and in kind income.
