This study analyzes the position of such concepts as authenticity and interpretation in cinematography. In this paper, initially, we assumed that the closer film is to the historical truth, the more likely it will be crowned with success, however, some films have proved that this is not always the case. Our empirical base allowed us to initially analyze successful films. Thus, we were able to understand what is a regularity and what is rather an exception.
