Ecological Priorities in the Russian Development Policy: Obstacles and Opportunities

The environmental issues appear with greater frequency not just on the international agenda, yet in the domestic policies of development of most countries. With an additional attention to sustainable development goals, nowadays is it undeniable that policy of economic growth has to incorporate ecological priorities for the future prospects. Yet do ecological priorities in the development policies face more obstacles than they will generate opportunities for the countries? The following paper shall examine the case of Russia in its pursuit of ecological principles in the development policies. The paper shall examine the research question, which shall discover if ecological priorities are incorporated in the Russian development policy and which obstacles and opportunities is the country and its national enterprises are to meet and consider on the sustainable development path. The paper shall grant special interest to national policies and to the role of Russian business in the implementation of ecological priorities.
