Features of the Broadcasting of Russian Regional Channels in Context of Switching to Digital Television

The relevance of this work lies in the fact that although the process of digitalization is technically over, the consequences of this process at the moment create many problems for the unimpeded broadcasting of regional television companies. This creates a lot of competition for regional and local TV channels that do not have a large sponsorship and whose information is relevant to a limited number of people living in a particular region or city. The object of this study is the Russian regional TV channels of the Russian Federation in the transition to digital broadcasting. The subject of the work is the peculiarities of broadcasting of regional TV channels. The purpose of the study is to identify the features and problems of Russian regional TV channels in the conditions of digitalization. The main problem of the study is that under the conditions of the transition to digital broadcasting, the existence of regional channels is threatened. In order to achieve the goal set in the paper, the following tasks are required: 1. To analyze the process of transition to digital broadcasting. 2) To study the conditions negatively affecting the regional channels. 3) Determine the specifics of the Russian channels, their legal status in terms of broadcasting volumes. 4. Analyze the requirements for mandatory publicly accessible municipal TV channels and TV channels of the subjects of the Russian Federation. 5. Determine the possible perspectives of regional TV channels. The paper puts forward the following hypotheses: 1. The situation of regional TV channels, as part of the transition to digital broadcasting has significantly worsened. 2. 2. The adopted amendments to the Laws "On Mass Media" and "On Communications" do not completely solve the existing problem. Drawing conclusions about the practical applicability of the thesis research, it can be assumed that the material obtained can be used by regional TV channels to build a model of development in the market.
