"Project 21" is a study created to document modern reality through the worldview, problems and dreams of representatives of generation Z. For this, a YouTube channel has been created, which will host 21 heroes who wished to take part in the project. The aim of this work is to create a pilot film-release of the "21" project. In this work, an overview of the theoretical materials of the "21" project is made and the process of its production is described: the development of topics and questions, the search for heroes and the stages of the concept implementation. Successful implementation requires compliance with all stages of the project. In this context, directing a film means the full range of work on a project and a pilot release. The tasks for achieving the goal are the development of the concept of the project, its implementation, shooting the issue and its publication. In some cases, the producer plays the leading role, but in Project 21, directing and drama are of paramount importance. The fact is that the release film and the project form are inseparable and are a simultaneous continuation of each other. In the process of creating a film script, it is necessary to rely on the specifics of the project. That is why the directing of the pilot episode began with the development of the project and will not end until the final channel of the twenty-first video is published on the YouTube channel "21". Generation Z is a unique generation of globalization, online and digital technologies, which is increasingly gaining its influence on the world. In Russia, the representatives of "Z" are the smallest. The heroes of the project are now about 21 years old, they live and think about what will happen to them and the country in 2021 in the 21st century. The project aims to find answers to what place they can take in this world, what awaits them, whether they will help solve current problems and prepare for the future. "Project 21" is the "mouthpiece of a generation", because its goal is to receive 21 responses from representatives of "Z" to the most diverse, important and topical issues of our time and understand what kind of country will be in twenty-one years. Unlike other projects, 21 proposes to take a step into the future with the help of representatives of the generation. They can declare themselves through the questionnaire on the site and become part of the puzzle of all-Russian history. If a representative of a generation wants to become a hero of the issue and tell about himself and topics that are important to you, then he just needs to fill out a questionnaire on the project website. The author of the work believes that he managed to fulfill the set goals and objectives, namely: disclosing the problems of directing a documentary research film, developing a draft concept, its implementation, shooting a release and publishing it. In the course of the work, the implementation of a clear project structure was implemented. All the necessary platforms were created: YouTube channel, website and social networks. The result of the project was the creation and publication of the issue, which is available at the link: https://youtu.be/be9TMbRuBPE . We have the opportunity to apply not only the theoretical base accumulated over two years of study on the program, but to show our own desire to study various thematic materials and practical solutions to the project. Possible prospects for the development of the "21" project is the creation of 20 more episodes on the YouTube channel. This fully realizes the goals of the project. The author and the supervisor discussed the idea that a series of podcasts with the heroes of the episodes could become the ideological continuation of the project. They will reflect on the topics raised on the project, as well as communicate with viewers and listeners. However, for this project it is necessary to select and find twenty more heroes.
