Features of Transmedia Storytelling about a Russian Region (Transmedia Project "Far/Near")

Student: Komarova Anastasiia

Supervisor: Artem Prokhorov

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Transmedia Production in Digital Industries (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The main problem of representation of regions is ignoring the processes of transformation of regional identity under the influence of modernity and various factors accompanying it, as well as excessive exploitation of romanticized decadent images, which include "porn ruin", "aesthetics of f* * * ing", in the context of which there is no place for a person with his unique sensory experience. The goal of the project "Far / Near" is to use the sensory experience of both the characters and the audience to demonstrate how the region, in this case Buryatia, can be represented in a new way, in the format of a transmedia project, while drawing attention to the topic of regional identity research. The purpose of the analytical part of the work is to analyze the features of the representation of Russian regions in the media space in the context of transmedia storytelling. Work structure: The thesis consists of an introduction, analytical and practical chapters, conclusion, list of references and appendices.
