Over the past six years, the European Union has suffered a crisis on a scale not seen since the Second World War, and the lack of solidarity among individual EU member states has intensified it even more. The increased tension since 2015 is related to the disproportionate distribution of migrants in the EU countries, who arrived from the Middle East and Africa, after the events of the Arab Spring. The aim of the study is to scrutinize the role of France in shaping the EU's migration policy. Immigration issues in France have continued to be high on the agenda in recent years due to the EU migration crisis. The integration of immigrants into French society is quite difficult against the background of a growing influx of immigrants and a high birth rate. At present, the migration crisis has enormous power and is already capable of calling into question the unity of the EU in the fight against it. The aim of the study is to consistently study the conditions for the formation of migration policy in Europe, to determine the position of France and the features of its influence on this process. The processes taking place in French society, related to the migration crisis and the actual displacement of one civilization with its own culture and religion by another, are reflected in the materials of scientific literature and the mass media.
