New tracks and performances by popular musicians in the past five years often turn into a political gesture, where circumstances force the participants to choose a side in the conflict, even if the musicians themselves do not want to associate creativity with politics. The purpose of this work is to trace how Internet users react to changes in semantic accents in politicized songs of popular Russian performers, and to identify the prevailing type of reaction, if any is more common here. We chose social networks for our research because they are currently an instrument of political power and reach a huge audience. To find out whether users predominantly support or reject the politicization of music, we used lexical analysis and semantic frequency analysis of lyrics and comments on thematic posts on social networks. The scientific novelty lies in the clarification of the main trends in the politicization of the works of popular Russian musicians and the reaction of the audience of social networks to this. Based on the results of the work, it was possible to identify that inclusion in the political agenda by 2020 turned out to be relevant for those performers for whom it was not previously typical; We also found that the politicization of the creativity of popular musicians evokes a predominantly positive response from users of social networks, and in some cases even attracts a new audience to them.
