The HSE Values project for HSE administrative staff is a creative project aimed at developing and producing the HSE Values online course for the successful adaptation of new staff personnel. This project will translate the crucial values of the Higher School of Economics University, as set out in the declaration of values, and link them to the key features of the work of administrative staff. The online course “The Values of HSE” is based on interviews with administrative staff from various university departments which reveal the peculiarities of the interpretation of established sets of values in work. The course structure consists of 3 blocks. The introduction part with general information about the values promoted at the university and the peculiarities of the work at HSE gives the basic overview of the Higher School of Economics. The second block, the main part, consists of 7 video lessons dedicated to the interpretation of core HSE values. The lectures will be accompanied by interactive content with the elements of gamification to make the courses immersive. At the end of each session, the users will be provided with additional reading material and a lesson summary. All the attendees will have to pass a final test consisting of open and closed questions to effectively check their understanding of the course materials. The final block contains parting words for new administrative staff to congratulate them. The online course “Values of HSE” aims to 1. Introduce new employees to the key values of HSE. Through the course, new employees will be able to feel a part of the united community. It is important not to burden the course with complex corporate information and organizational documents but rather to show the Higher School of Economics as a single organism driven by shared ideals. 2. Explain the academic environment peculiarities and the specifics of administrators' relationship with both internal and external clients. 3. Assist new employees in the probationary phase of the trial period and formulate an understanding of how well the HSE University is suited for them at a deep value level. The format of the online course coincides with the Programme of HSE Development up to2030, which provides for the digitalization of the entire university into a single online portal and the introduction of various online education technologies. The online course HSE Values reveals the concepts of the following values: - Striving for truth - Collaboration and commitment to one another - Honesty and openness - Academic freedom and political neutrality - Professionalism, self-discipline, and accountability - Public engagement As invited experts, the project involved: - Anastasiia Kovalenko - Head: Legal Office / Laws and Regulations Unit - Irina Martusevich - Chief of Staff; - Svetlana Tikhonova - Head of Department: Academic Development Department; - Elena Molodykh-HR Director; - Lyudmila V.
