Year of Graduation: 2021

The work is devoted to the study of methods and approaches of creating a script for a fiction short film. The result of the work was the original script for the film "Diploma" and the shooting of its key scene. The events of the film unfold in 2020 in the spring before the start of the quarantine. A graduate of the directing department Alena wants to complete her graduation project, where she plays the main role and which she directs - a film about a bright and self-confident gypsy named Katya, who lives during the collapse of the USSR and dreams of changing the world with the help of an art. The introduction of quarantine measures is announced, and a ban on mass events in public places is imposed, so Alena has only 24 hours to complete her debut film. The short film "Diploma" puts forward the themes of the creative path, self-determination and internal conflicts in a person that prevent him from revealing his potential. Film also puts before the viewer such questions as the place of the Art in the life of society, the need to follow the dream of professional self-realization and through cultural means change the world for the better. An important part of this work is the description of existing approaches to writing a film script, which I followed when creating my own script package. I have developed a method for studying the structure and processing of existing film plots for use in my own scripts. The relevance of this work is due to the development of the Internet and the emergence of new opportunities for the publication of the created product and its promotion, as well as the raised topics of the pandemic. The work will serve as educational material for novice professionals in the field of creating and promoting a feature film who are interested in studying the stages of script writing. In the everyday sphere of this activity, there are not so many high-quality sources based on personal example and which tells all the details of the phased creation of fiction short films. This project will serve as proof that anyone can create a high-quality, structured script document and start production with a small budget.
