The purpose of this study was to identify the features of user narratives about the experience of visiting museums on Facebook and Instagram. To achieve this goal, we analyzed a total of about 600 publications of visitors to the Museum of Moscow, the Jewish Museum and the Center for Tolerance and the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, using thematic, narrative, rhetorical and visual analysis of posts; the method of content typology; and also conducted an expert survey of employees of the SMM departments of museums. Facebook and Instagram users 'storytelling differences, analysis of museums' work with user-generated content in social media, and recommendations for museums on how to use user-generated content created by visitors were identified as part of the practical part of the thesis. The authors were able to identify the types of user narratives about the experience of visiting 3 Russian museums, identify differences in the storytelling of visitors to these museums on Facebook and Instagram, analyze the work of museums with user-generated content in social media, and form recommendations for museums on the use of content created by visitors. The latter was the practical significance of this work.
