Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the world has been confronted with a series of challenges, including poverty, unemployment, food security and political stability. Facing the epidemic, different countries have revealed the strengths or weaknesses of different social systems in responding to public health emergencies. Guided by the “America First” principle, the Trump administration’s foreign policy has shown a strategic contraction: reduce costs, reduce commitments, and strive to enhance its own strength. In the face of the epidemic, the US government lacks a timely and unified anti-epidemic policy, the hollowing out of the industry, the presidential election and other factors have caused the United States to lose a lot under the epidemic. With economic development and technological progress, China occupies an important part of the global supply chain. In the face of the epidemic, the effective policies and strong execution of the Chinese government have been successful. In the face of the international community, China has donated masks, vaccines and other materials to fight the epidemic to other countries. To a certain extent, China's international status has been improved. However, due to the stigmatization of China by some politicians and the media, China's international image has been severely reduced. China has also gradually adopted tougher countermeasures against the United States to safeguard its national interests. The Sino-U.S. confrontation continues to escalate.
