One of the trends in modern trade is the rapid increase in the number of regional trade agreements (RTAs), which provide for the creation of free trade zones. In addition to core trade issues, modern RTAs often include environmental provisions, reflecting countries' commitment to implementing sustainable development goals. These measures are relevant and necessary in the context of the current environmental situation. However, an extremely important issue is the impact of environmental regulation on the trade of countries, whether an active environmental policy becomes a barrier to mutual trade within the RTA. This study analyzed US trade policies under existing trade agreements. The specificity of US environmental policy in the context of trade agreements was considered and the impact of the inclusion of environmental provisions in the RTA on US trade was examined.
