At the moment, the country is embarking on a course of enhanced economic development, in accordance with the election promise of President Joir Bolsonaro. Therefore, to ensure that economic development does not turn into a disaster for the Brazilian environment, it is necessary to analyze the environmental assessment process in the field of transport infrastructure, which will potentially become the main driver of economic growth in Brazil. The purpose of this study is to identify the quality of the environmental assessment of transport infrastructure construction in Brazil, and it can be concluded that the environmental assessment of Brazilian transport infrastructure needs minor improvements in order for environmental studies to bring more benefits to the country, not only in the short term, but and in the long run. In this regard, the best solution would be to integrate sustainable development indicators into the environmental assessment process, but not only on federal projects, but also on local and regional scale. Also, if in parallel with this, the data obtained as a result of research is loaded in an ordered form, then control over the retention of the track within the framework of long-term strategies will be possible without additional research.
