The FTA agreement between the EU and Japan is one of the largest economic partnership agreements, which covers a significant share of the world economy and world trade. This paper will analyze the trade and economic relations between the EU and Japan, as well as the commodity structure of exports and imports in trade between the parties to the agreement. To assess the impact, we used the method of calculating trade indices that indicated a positive result from the FTA agreement. In addition, at the end of the work, potential scenarios for the development of relations between the EU and Japan were developed.
