In this work the goal was to estimate the radiation tolerance of a photovoltaic battery (PB) under the influence of ionizing radiation from the space environment. To achieve it, various types of ionizing radiation from the space, the principles of operation and structures of the PB, the influence of radiation on the characteristics of the PB were studied. Moreover, different methods for estimation the radiation tolerance were considered and a systematic method for evaluation the radiation tolerance of the PB was obtained. The radiation tolerance of a specific photovoltaic battery was also evaluated under the influence of ionization and structural effects in the SPENVIS program. Based on the results, conclusions were drawn about the radiation tolerance of the battery according to characteristics. The work consists of 46 pages, 20 illustrations, 3 tables and 16 sources.
