This paper examines the structural similarity of constructions produced by the delusions of paranoid psychosis and metaphysical constructions. The psychoanalytic approach of Sigmund Freud is used, based on the remarks left by him about the relationship between psychosis and philosophy. The view acquired in this way is used to identify a specific tendency of reducing the psychoticity of discourse in the history of Western philosophy. The concept of eternal return, proposed by Friedrich Nietzsche, is considered as an example of radical non-psychoticism.
