ANNOTATION The term post-truth came into the spotlight with the election of Donald Trump’s presidency after it was named Oxford Dictionary’s “Word of the Year” for 2016. Yet, there seems to be a lack of agreement on what post-truth is and how epistemology would apply to this concept. This paper seeks to formulate a criterion for post-truth based on how previous authors have approached the concept. Using these criteria, discourse analysis will be applied to various articles within the alternative media of the right dealing with the conspiracy theory of cultural Marxism to form an epistemic understanding of post-truth.
