Diffusion of Political Protest: Theory and Empirical Analysis (1990 to 2019)

In this paper, several hypotheses have been formulated about the influence of protest movements and its consequences on the diffusion of political protest. Based on the empirical base of the study, several negative binomial regression models with mixed parameters were built. Based on the results of the conducted regression analysis, it was possible to find several relationships between the protest environment, the transit environment, information globalization and the diffusion of political protest.
