Historical Development of Minor Political Parties in Taiwan After the End of Martial Law

Taiwanese political history is of much interest to historians, yet the phenomenon of minor political parties in Taiwan and their historical development have not been studied well yet. This research solves the problem. The author investigates three particular parties, New Party (NP), People First Party (PFP) and Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU). An array of historical sources is studied, including newspapers, journals and sociological surveys. Such a comprehensive approach allows us to draw important conclusions regarding the minor parties of Taiwan.
