At the beginning of the twentieth century, periodicals acquired great importance in the political life of society in the Russian Empire. The Manifesto for the Improvement of State Order, published on October 17, 1905, proclaimed freedom of the press, which led to the rapid development of newspapers and magazines. First of all, it was about the liberal press, which immediately became actively involved in the election campaign in the first State Duma. The object of the research is publicistic works written by A.S. Izgoev from 1905 to 1909, in which the author expresses his views on the Russian revolution of 1905-1907. The subject of this research is the concept of revolution in the journalistic works of A.S. Izgoeva. The first chapter is devoted to the characteristics of the Old Order. The second chapter is focused directly on the analysis of the nature and logic of the revolutionary process in the view of A.S. Izgoeva. In this work, the concept of revolution will be considered on the basis of the elements that make it up, which allows us to consider the relationship of these parts: the causes and origins of the revolution, its acting forces, methods of revolutionary struggle, the structure after the revolution.
