The Role of the British Admiralty in the Organisation of Arctic Expeditions in the 19th Century

This final qualified work is devoted to the British Admiralty in the 19th century and its activities in the Arctic. It was at this time that Great Britain laid the foundations for further research of this region, inspired many famous researchers. The purpose of my work is to provide a complete and detailed picture of the Admiralty's activities in the Arctic. The subject of research is the expeditions themselves and the plans of the Admiralty, the objects are memoirs and expeditionary journals. As a result of the work, not only the most detailed picture of the British Arctic expeditions will be drawn up, but also a comparison with private expeditions will be made, and the influence of Britain on the study of this region will be studied.
