Abe Shinzo is remembered in Japanese history as a continuously long-serving prime minister of postwar Japan. His foreign policy was successful, he could restore relations with many countries around the globe and develop mutual cooperation. Russia was not an exception. Abe was interested in trustful relations due to several reasons. The current paper researches these reasons and what was the role of Abe Shinzo in Japan's foreign policy towards Russia.
