Due to the significant growth of the video games market over the past five years, it is believed that this industry can become a valuable asset for investors' investments. This statement is confirmed by the number of new innovations implemented in this segment, companies that have made positive profits in a short-term period, as well as articles on market research. Hardly can someone deny that such a development of events could also be an impetus for the expansion of business processes, such as the diversification of monetization model. Regarding it, investors and developers face the question of which monetization model brings the greatest profit and pays off in the short run? Unfortunately, the scientific literature has not yet had time to study this problem in more detail in order to give an accurate answer to this question. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to try to fill this literary gap and examine the impact of video game monetization models on company profitability. During the study, I have used past studies as a theoretical background, on the basis of which a number of hypotheses were formulated regarding each model of monetization. One of them was that the ad monetization model negatively affects profits, which was confirmed by the way. As the main validation tool to apply, I’ve chosen a linear regression model since its easy interpretation. Based on the constructed models and the results, the paper made a list of recommendations, serving as a valuable insight for companies that have recently entered the market and investors who would consider the profitability of projects in terms of a monetization model.
