The advent of television and advertising, the widespread development of pop culture, the Internet and social networks have contributed to the popularization of unrealistic standards of beauty. This project proposal discusses the theme of rejection of the body and appearance, the impact of beauty standards on people of different cultures and how this problem develops in the fashion industry. Based on the analysis of the representation of the body and appearance in fashion and works of artists studied in visual research several conclusions can be drawn. The results of research show that idealized media images and fashion advertisements promote western beauty standards worldwide affecting body image of people in a negative way. Consequently, people experience dissatisfaction with their physical appearance. This creates a desire to change body according to the canons, ideal, fashion, trend. Unhealthy body transformation practices can cause both physical and mental damage. For this reason, beauty standards broadcast in the media are regularly criticized. As a result, the movements "Body positivity" and "Diversity" were formed, which celebrate the diversity of the body and appearance. The new fashion collection will be based on the concept body image and consist of seven looks. The works of artists studied in visual research form the basis of tools for further work.
