The Role of Graphic Design in Reimagining the Urban Space

The goal of this study was to analyze the relationship between graphic design and urban space using the strategies and theories from multiple research fields. Graphic design is conceptualized as a specific mode of communication and the phenomena of perceptual connection and graphic design encounter in urban space are analyzed. The study shows how graphic design changes the semiotic codes of urban space and transforms cities into communication spaces.
